María Herrera Mellado

María Herrera Mellado is a practicing licensed attorney in the United States, and a licensed attorney in Spain.

She has many years of experience as a business and immigration attorney and as a consultant to Hispanic-American politicians.

Maria holds a Ph.D. degree in law and an LL.B. at the University of Granada (Spain), a Juris Doctor and LL.M. from the University of Arizona, and a Corporate M.B.A. at the Florida International University.

She has authored several articles on data protection, new technologies, consumer and comparative banking law in very prestigious law journals and professional magazines from in Spain, Portugal, Peru and Brazil. She also co-authored two books published in Perú and Colombia.

She received a Certificate of Merit by the city of Miami in recognition of her excellent service to the community, and a summa cum laude award by Group GEES, a Spanish association dedicated to national security law and defense.

She was also included as one of the most influential women in Florida by Diario las Americas, the first Spanish newspaper in South Florida and the second oldest in the United States.

She is proficient in English, Spanish and French and basic Portuguese.

She is often consulted and participates in debates in Spanish-speaking channels like Univision, Telemundo, France24, NTN24 America Tevé and Mega TV, and she writes articles in Diario Las Americas
